A home away from home in Nepal
After traveling at a whirlwind pace for 2 months, we needed something different. A place to stay for a while, take a breather, be in nature, and most importantly, prep for our upcoming Himalayan trek (is eating butter chicken every day in India a form of endurance training?).
That place is Pokhara, Nepal -- our little lakeside home away from home.
After landing in Kathmandu from Bangalore, we spent one night in the capital city before heading out to Pokhara for 6 days. Highlights include: walking the lakeside pedestrian path, a warm-up hike in pouring rain, buying fake North Face jackets, Juicery Cafe yoga classes, and Roadhouse Italian Cafe.
When we returned from our 11 day trek (spoiler: we survived!) to the same hotel, we had a relieved feeling of coming back home. Thank you, Pokhara, for being the most foreign place I've ever felt like wasn't.
